What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a form of healthcare focused on the neuro musculoskeletal system — including the spine, joints, muscles and the way they work together.
Chiropractic care can be used to help manage pain, improve movement and support physical function. It may involve hands-on treatment alongside movement, exercise and education.
It isn't just about what happens during an appointment. Understanding your symptoms, maintaining movement and recognising what supports your physical wellbeing can all form part of your care.
Where appropriate, I'll help you explore these areas so you can make informed decisions and feel more confident managing your health beyond the treatment room.

What does chiropractic involve?
Your first appointment begins with a conversation about what you're experiencing, your health history and what you would like help with. I then assess your movement and physical function to build a better understanding of what's going on.
Depending on your individual needs, treatment may include chiropractic adjustments, joint mobilisation, soft tissue techniques, movement advice or exercises.
A different way of looking at chiropractic...
Chiropractic can look quite different depending on the practitioner. My approach combines hands-on chiropractic care with an understanding of movement, the nervous system and the individual experience of pain.
The aim isn't simply to focus on the area that hurts, but to understand the problem and consider what may help you move and function more comfortably.
I take time to understand what you're experiencing, how it affects your life and what might be contributing to the problem. That means looking at the person as a whole rather than treating the body as a collection of separate parts.
