How I work

Looking at the bigger picture, not just the symptom.

When you come for chiropractic care in Stockport, I take the time to understand what's going on for you as a whole person — not just where you're experiencing pain.

We start by understanding what's going on

Before deciding what treatment might be appropriate, I want to understand what you're experiencing and what has brought you to see me.

We'll talk through your symptoms, relevant history, physical function and what you'd like to achieve. I'll then carry out an appropriate physical assessment to build a clearer picture of what's going on.

We look beyond the symptoms

Your symptoms don't exist in isolation.

Where it's relevant to your presentation, I'll consider factors such as movement, sleep, nutrition, stress, relationships and lifestyle alongside what's happening physically.

This isn't about giving you a long list of things you need to change. It's about understanding what may be relevant to you, what matters to you and what feels realistic within your circumstances..

The mind and body are connected

How we feel physically can influence how we feel emotionally, and factors such as stress, sleep and our wider circumstances can influence how our bodies feel and function.

When it's relevant to your care, we'll consider these connections rather than treating your physical symptoms in isolation.

We decide what's appropriate

Once I've understood what's going on, I'll explain my findings and talk you through your options.

Your care might include chiropractic treatment, soft tissue techniques, movement advice, exercises or education — depending on what I think is appropriate and what you're comfortable with.

We review and adapt as we go

There isn't a set treatment plan that everyone follows.

We'll look at how you're responding, what is changing and whether the care you're receiving is still appropriate. Where necessary, we'll adapt the approach as you progress.

My aim isn't to keep you coming simply because that's what was originally planned. Your care should reflect what you need at that point in time.

You understand what's happening

I don't want you to feel like you're simply being told what needs to happen to your body.

I'll explain what I'm doing, why I'm recommending it and what I'm finding, using language that makes sense to you. I'll also make space for your questions, so you can understand what's happening rather than having to take everything on trust.

My aim is for you to leave appointments with a clearer understanding of your body and your symptoms.

I promote autonomy

My aim isn't to make you feel that you need treatment indefinitely. I want you to develop the knowledge and confidence to play an active role in your own health.

We'll explore what you can do between appointments to support your movement, physical function and overall wellbeing. Where appropriate, I'll share practical advice, exercises or resources, and we can consider what feels achievable within your circumstances.

This isn't about expecting you to do everything perfectly or assuming that every aspect of your health is within your control. It's about helping you understand your options, recognise where you have choices and make informed decisions that work for you.

Your care should support you, not make you dependent on me.
